“New Gateway” to Greenville breaks ground on 10th Street


Leaders from East Carolina University and the Greenville community gathered on Tuesday to kick off a project developers are calling “the new gateway to downtown Greenville.”


Intersect East, a joint venture between ECU and Elliott Sidewalk Communities, is a development planned as a 19-acre complex supporting light manufacturing, research and development, housing, restaurants and office space.


The campus will also serve as an innovation campus and devote 10,000 square feet to the university’s College of Engineering. Greenville-ENC Alliance, a local economic development agency, will have space at the building.
